45 patterns for sustainable business models
Companies are increasingly faced with the task of operating sustainably. But how can they create not just economic but also ecological and social value in a sustainability-oriented manner? In the new book “Sustainable Business Model Design,” Media University professor Henning Breuer, together with Florian Lüdeke-Freund and Lorenzo Massa, presents 45 business models that focus on sustainable innovation and business design.
In their book they introduce the concept of sustainable business model patterns that help entrepreneurs and manager realize sustainability in their business environment. A sustainable business model is an experience-based blueprint to create a business model or to recreate an existing one. It includes a statement about an economic, social and/or ecological challenge and a proposed solution to address that challenge, with the deliberate goal of creating sustainable value.
