Last Friday, the online conference DE SIGN RE SEARCH has been all about current topics and trends in visual communication. Bachelor and master students of Media University Berlin presented their self-selected research topics in short presentations and discussed, among other things, with multimodality expert Jana Pflaeging from the University of Salzburg about design that not only conveys a clear aesthetic, but also carries a message.

A special highlight of this entertaining and inspiring afternoon was definitely the visit of Jana Pflaeging, who is currently researching the topic of multimodality at the University of Salzburg. In her lecture, the students learned, among other things, how important graphic design and descriptive infographics are, especially in a scientific context. At the same time, she invited them to submit articles for the renowned journal Visual Communication. Pflaeging herself works there as an editor and is open towards students who would like to contribute to the discourse.
