Enrolment Celebration for Master students at Media University Berlin

October 8, 2019

Today Media University Berlin welcomed their new Master students of winter semester 2019/2020. More than 90 students will start a master program at the university. On the occasion of the university’s 10th anniversary Governing Mayor of Berlin Michael Müller passed on his greetings to the university staff and all students.

At the beginning of the official enrolment the master students were welcomed by the university’s governing board, in person of president Prof. Dr. Klaus-Dieter Schulz and chancellor Prof. Dr. Ronald Freytag. After a short presentation about the university’s fascinating history Prof. Freytag read aloud the greetings of Governing Mayor of Berlin Michael Müller who unfortunately could not be present at the enrolment celebration.

In the presence of their companions, future professors and Media University’s university administration and management, all first-year students (in German briefly “Erstis”) received their matriculation certificates.

In this semester also Prof. Dr. Christian Möller was appointed as a professor in the department Journalism and Communication that is led by Prof. Dr. Markus Ziener.

Furthermore, Media University was very happy to announce that in winter semester 2019/20 again eleven Deutschlandstipendium scholarships can be offered to students. The Deutschlandstipendium rewards students who are able to show above-average marks, outstanding study achievements as well as a special social commitment. It includes a financial support of 300 Euros per month for 12 months.

Last but not least, the new students were warmly welcomed by the local AStA (Student’s Union) who had prepared some fun activities for the following days. During the get-together event following the study program introductions and the ceremonial part, the new students started to get to know each other.

We wish all new Master students a successful start at Media University Berlin and all the best for their studies!
