Field trip: Google Berlin

July 25, 2018

Just before the end of the summer semester, the students of M.A. International Marketing and Media Management went on a field trip to visit Google’s Berlin offices.

Accompanied by Prof. Dr. Ingo Knuth (Head of the Master‘s course) and Justin Reichelt (Research Associate), the students went on a guided tour around Google’s representional Berlin offices, located prominently at “Unter den Linden”. The group enjoyed the colourful interior design and immediately noticed, that the name of each office is inspired by Berlin’s famous club scene, carrying names such as “Kater Holzig”.

After some cold beverages, the group was given an introduction on the history of the tech corporation, as well as its strategy and mission. They furthermore learned about current challenges with regards to the economic situation and regulations. The students were particularly delighted to get some helpful insight on how to apply for a job at Google.
