Getting ready for the Internet Governance Forum 2019 in Berlin

November 22, 2019

Only few days left before the beginning of the IGF (Internet Governance Forum) in Berlin: From 25th to 29th November students of M.A. Convergent Journalism participate at the conference that takes place in Estrel Hotel and is organized by the United Nations. The issues up for discussion include technical standards, human rights matters, and the impact of digital technologies on everyday and working life.

In this year the IGF is hosted by the German government for the first time. Chancellor Angela Merkel herself will open officially the conference on Tuesday. Key topics of the conference will be issues like Data Governance, Digital Inclusion and Safety & Security in the world wide web.

The Media University students will be present together with Prof. Markus Ziener and the lecturers Jost Listemann and Felix von Stutterheim the whole week. They will produce both journalistic articles and content such as videos and social media posts. The conference can be followed via the official Media University twitter account as well. This week the students were already split into groups. Every team prepared its own editorial schedule for the conference. We wish all the participants a lot of fun at the conference. Furthermore we are really looking forward to your articles, photos and social media posts.
