Hearty graduation ceremony for Media University alumni at Phorms Theater
Back in presence: At the graduation ceremony in the Phorms Theater in Berlin, Bachelor’s and Master’s graduates were honored and bid farewell by their professors in a festive atmosphere.
The last few years have been full of challenges – so it was even a greater pleasure for our alumni to be able to celebrate their successful graduation live on site together with family and friends, lecturers, and university and department heads. In their opening speeches, university chancellor Prof. Dr. Ronald Freytag and rector Prof. Dr. Klaus-Dieter Schulz looked back on the unusual last years and wished the graduates all the best for their career entry into the dynamic working world.
Media University was particularly pleased to have Karin Teichmann, member of the board of the EUREF AG, as guest speaker. She had already met some of the university’s students and faculty earlier this year when EUREF AG was a cooperation partner for the project week. She encouraged the alumni to get involved in current discourses and to initiate social changes by means of the competences they had acquired during their studies.
After the awarding of the best Bachelor and Master theses, in a very personal speech, Master alumna Stefy Andrade looked back on her own time at Media University and shared, among other things, her experiences of self-employment with the fellow students attending the event. She encouraged them to go their own way and to pursue professional goals with courage and enthusiasm.
Of course, the obligatory hat toss photo was not missing. During a get-together that followed after the ceremony there was also an opportunity to get in touch with each other and talk about plans after graduation. In addition, the alumni had the chance to take pictures with their fellow students in the photo box and thus could also take home a photographic souvenir of their time at the university.
We wish all graduates from the departments of Design, Journalism & Communication, Psychology and Management and Business Studies all the best for their future lives and a good start to their careers!
