Media University students cooperate with Berlin FinTech company
This semester, students of the program M.A. Public Relations and Digital Marketing (PRDM) at Media University Berlin are developing strategic communication concepts for Solarisbank, Europe’s leading banking-as-a-service platform. Founded in 2016, the Berlin-based company with around 400 employees and more than 160 million in financing capital is thus offering the international Master’s students insights into day-to-day practice and a concrete field of work.
“Despite Corona, we are delighted to have Solarisbank, a growing and innovative FinTech, as a partner for our practical module. Solarisbank‘s commitment and willingness in these somewhat difficult times offers students a great opportunity to apply and try out their acquired knowledge in practice,” said Prof. Dr. Christian Möller of Media University, who is leading the project on the university’s side.
“Working with students is always a pleasure for us, Media University is an excellent project partner and we are looking forward to the analyses and impulses”, so Baha Jamous, Vice President Marketing & Communication of Solarisbank, who is in charge of the project on the company’s side.
As part of the practical module “Advanced Strategic Communication”, Solarisbank follows cooperation partners such as Reporters Without Borders or the start-up Kaffee Kooperative. As a “tech company with a banking license,” Solarisbank enables other companies to integrate financial services into their own product offerings. In Germany, for example, the bank provides the technical and regulatory infrastructure for Samsung Pay, American Express or Bitwala.
“I would also like to thank the education officer of the German Association of Communicators (BdKom), Ina Froehner, who established the contact with Solarisbank,” Möller added.
