Hybrid enrolment ceremony: Media University welcomes new students

October 9, 2020

The start of a new, initially hybrid semester: The matriculation ceremony for the winter semester 2020/21 took place recently at the three branches Berlin, Cologne and Frankfurt (Main) on site and online via livestream. The university management welcomed the prospective new students and gave a preview of the new semester, most of which will probably take place online.

After a short presentation of the university by Rector Prof. Dr. Klaus-Dieter Schulz and Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ronald Freytag and of the lecturers by the department heads, the students who attended the ceremony received their certificate of enrolment. All first-year students that participated online were also welcomed at the university. The awarding of German scholarships to four particularly high-performing Media University students was also very pleasing.

Particularly in the Master’s programs, many international students will again begin their studies at Media University this year. Among others, students from China, India, the US, Brazil, South Korea, Tanzania, and many other countries from all over the world participated in the online events.

Finally on site at Campus Frankfurt

Special highlight in Frankfurt: The new location on Solmsstraße, which was opened in March, could finally be inaugurated by the students. The Media University starter pack with goodies, like the Media University face mask, ball-point pen, trail mix and bottle was of course not to be missing. After the enrolment ceremony still another memory photo was taken in front of the Media University light wall. The team Frankfurt was extremely pleased about the fact that all students had confirmed their attendance and had come to the new campus.

Winter semester 2020: Online lectures meet face-to-face lectures

As much classroom teaching as possible, as many online events as necessary: As in the previous semester, the Media University will strive to keep university life as lively as possible despite hygiene and distance rules and and to enable a seamless study without loss of content and time.

We wish all students a good start in their studies and much success. We are looking forward with anticipation to the coming (hybrid) semester. Welcome to Media University!
