Master student from Media University Berlin wins Hackathon
On Thursday, March 22nd, Goethe-Institut’s workshop conference “Startklar?!” took place in Berlin. Emel Kaya Betz, student at Media University Berlin won the hackathon with her team.
The workshop’s focus lay on finding and developing new, future-proof ways of teaching and learning foreign languages in the digital age. The event took place at Spreewerkstätten, Berlin.
Emel Kaya Betz, who currently studies M.A. Communication Design at Media University, took part in the hackathon, the final competition where participants developed ideas and presented them in front of a jury. The student worked as part of an interdisciplinary team designing a tandem app. They used methods of design thinking to develop the concept.
Emel’s team was able to impress the jury with their idea and hence won the hackathon. They will use the funding awarded to further develop the app in cooperation with Goethe-Institut.
