New M.A. course: Public Relations and Digital Marketing

It is now possible to apply for the new master’s course Public Relations and Digital Marketing, which will be starting in October at the Media University in Berlin and Cologne.

In the course of digitalization and the omnipresence of social media, a number of new fields of activity have emerged at the intersection between public relations, marketing and corporate communication. Thus, it becomes vital to represent these trends within the academic educational context and enable students to take part in shaping today’s ever-changing world of digital media.

As of winter term 2018, Media University will be offering a study program that perfectly prepares graduates for their future careers in these new areas of communication. M.A. Public Relations and Digital Marketing will be the first international course in Europe that specifically links PR with digital marketing. The curriculum includes, for example, crisis communication, internal communication, PR writing, media planning, social media marketing and consumer behavior.

Graduates can apply their knowledge in a variety of fields and industries. It is possible to specialize in corporate communication or works for an NGO, a political organization, or in the public sector.

At campus Berlin, the program will be taught in English (just as all M.A. courses at our Berlin campus); the teaching language at Media University Cologne is German. Regardless, it is optional to write one’s master thesis in either German or English at any Media University campus. The same applies to exams.
