Prof. Dr. Harald Kolrep appointed Editor in Chief of Aviation Psychology and Applied Human Factors
Prof. Dr. Harald Kolrep, head of Media University Berlin’s Department of Psychology, has been appointed Editor in Chief of Aviation Psychology and Applied Human Factors, the scientific journal dedicated to the psychological aspects of aviation.
Since the journal was started in 2011, Harald Kolrep has served as one of the Associate Editors. He now succeeds Ioana Koglbauer (University of Graz) in the position of the Editor in Chief. Aviation Psychology and Applied Human Factors is published by Hogrefe with two issues per year. The journal addresses both scientific researchers and operative experts in aviation. The content includes original scientific research articles as well as practitioner reports, both of which are fully peer-reviewed.
Prof. Dr. Kolrep, whose field of expertise is the psychology of safety and human factors, has been conducting research in aviation since the beginning of his academic career. He is a member of the EAAP, the European Association for Aviation Psychology, and served on its board from 2008 to 2016. His doctoral thesis on “The impact of automation on cognitive processing in Air Traffic Controllers” was awarded the prize for “Safety in Civil Aviation” from Flughafen Frankfurt/Main Foundation.
The next issue of Aviation Psychology and Applied Human Factors (volume 9, issue 1), which will be the last issue edited by Ioana Koglbauer, will be published in spring 2019.
