VMA on-campus workshops: camera work and documentary filmmaking
This week, first year students of the distance learning master’s program Visual and Media Anthropology from around the world gathered at Media University’s physical campus for hand-on seminars in camera skills and documentary filmmaking.
In the on-campus camera workshops with Mark Dölling, students practiced the basics of camera skills and lighting with the range of equipment Media University has to offer.
In the workshop “Fiction Elements in Documentary Filmmaking” with the lecturer Janina Findeisen (filmmaker, visual anthropologist, writer) and Angélique Kommer (producer for fictional series) the students learned how to develop, pitch and realize a film project. Where does reality end in documentary film, where does fiction begin?
Thanks to everyone from G14 who joined us for another round of on-campus workshops full of insights at Media University Berlin!
