Background

Starting with his studies in the field of economics Boris Alexander Becker holds a Bachelor of Business Administration. He proceeded with Master studies in the field of political sciences including elements of macroeconomics at the Eberhard-Karls-Universität in Tübingen (Germany). Against this background Boris Alexander Becker continued with a foreign stay at the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), where his idea for the dissertation topic in the field of International Political Economy was born. He fulfilled his doctoral studies at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum (Germany) with focus on innovation studies about supportive conditions for knowledge transfer between higher education institutions and enterprises. Simultaneously he worked at the Institute of Educational Science and Media Research at the FernUniversität in Hagen for several years. As fixed term professor he gave lectures mainly in the field of quantitative as well as qualitative empirical methods. In addition, Boris Alexander Becker acquired professional experience as Co-Manager in a medium-sized enterprise with main responsibility for the Online-Business and later as a Project Manager at a management consultancy.
