Career

After studying economics and business administration at the universities of Marburg and Kiel, Friederike Bing completed her doctorate at the Institute for Economic Policy at the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel under Prof. Dr. Gerhard Prosi on the subject of “The exploitation of copyrights – an economic analysis with special consideration of licensing by collecting societies”. After working as an assistant there, where she gained her first teaching experience, she began her professional career at the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung in the areas of sales, marketing and CRM. This was followed by several years at the Handelsblatt publishing group, where Ms. Bing was responsible for a wide range of tasks in the print and online areas of the media company as head of project management. Since 2007, she has held various positions at the DuMont media group, first as head of corporate development for the entire media group, then in management positions in some of the subsidiaries she set up. At the same time, she held teaching positions at various universities before joining the Media University team.
