Early Beat Birds: Pre-lecture clubbing

September 20, 2024

The “Early Beat Birds” event series took place at the Media University for the first time in summer semester 2024. The innovative pre-lecture clubbing format was created by the university’s event managers. In view of its success, the Media University is planning to continue the event series and integrate it firmly into the semester calendar.

Overview

On selected days, a seminar room was transformed into a small club from 8 a.m., where students could start the day with electronic beats played by DJ Tanita.

The event was complemented by a free coffee and smoothie bar, which offered participants a refreshing energy boost for the day ahead. The aim of the event series was to give students a lively and motivated start to the day. The combination of music, exercise and healthy drinks created a balance to the daily study routine, which sent the students off to their lectures in an upbeat and cheerful mood. The unusual timing in particular – early in the morning – was met with initial skepticism, but the positive response surprised even the initiators. Despite the early time, “Early Beat Bird” was well received and the atmosphere among the participants was exuberant.

The organizers are delighted with the positive feedback and look forward to organizing more pre-lecture clubbing mornings for students in the future. “Early Beat Bird” has shown that a good start to the day can significantly increase students‘ motivation and well-being.
