At the Global Game Jam (GGJ), temporary teams come together to spontaneously develop a digital game, similar to a hackathon, in which participants work together for a short period of time on a programming solution to a problem. This year, the GGJ took place during the independent study week of the winter semester, which meant that a Media University team was able to take part for the first time.

Within three days, students of "B.A. Game Design und Interactive Medien" (B.A. Game Design and Interactive Media, German only) developed the strategy game “World Shroomination”

In World Shroomination, players take on the role of a fungal organism that is trying to expand its network and must defend itself against human attacks.
