October 21, 2021

How can typography reflect the diversity of the city of Berlin? Design students at Media University designed and animated the Letter  B E R L I N according to different approaches and concepts during a semester project. On 13 October, the final animations were presented exclusively on all 12 projector projections and the digital displays in the Friedrichstraße subway station.

The animations were created as part of the “Type in Motion” workshop, which was led by Martin Lorenz from TwoPoints.net and Mario Gorniok from Keenly. The students can definitely be very proud of the opportunity to present their work to the general public using the WallDecaux LED screens installed at the station: Friedrichstrasse subway station, not far from the Media University campus, is one of the most frequented public places in Berlin, with over 75,000 passengers a day.
