Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Jan-Henning Raff, Berlin students of the MA Communication Design have systematically investigated the different levels of perception of graphic design objects in the module “Design and Social Research”.
The results of this extensive analysis were summarized in a poster. Observations and interviews were conducted to capture graphic design in its context of use. Findings and statements from these were transformed into poems and song lyrics – some of which have even become real songs:
The analysis begins with the so-called preattentive perception, includes the investigation of emotional effects, explores creative principles, discusses sign systems and asks about the socio-cultural background.
