ReliVR — Fighting depression with virtual reality
The ReliVR researchers are developing digital therapy modules for patients with severe depression in order to better meet psychotherapeutic needs. To this end, various VR-based modules (ReliVR-VR) and a desktop version (ReliVR-Online) are being realized, taking into account the needs of patients and therapists.
Innovative approaches in therapy development through virtual reality
The ReliVR project is developing virtual reality-based therapy modules for people with severe depression. The aim is to support traditional depression therapies with VR technologies in clinical and home environments, bridge waiting times and close gaps in care. ReliVR combines VR and desktop solutions and tracks treatment success using computer-based indicators. The project aims to make therapy more efficient, prevent relapses and improve access to psychotherapeutic care. The project ran from August 2021 to August 2024 and was funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
