After graduating, Khaled Amirian specialized in the development and implementation of comprehensive employer branding strategies. Through his studies in M.A International Marketing and Media Management, he has gained valuable knowledge about global marketing strategies and the influence of media. Here he shares his experiences, challenges and plans for the future and gives valuable advice to students looking to pursue a career in this diverse field.

What comes to mind when you think about your studies at the Media University?

When I look back on my studies, I remember the valuable knowledge and skills I gained during my Master’s program in International Marketing and Media Management. The program gave me a solid foundation for understanding global marketing strategies, buyer behavior and the influence of media in today’s interconnected world. These insights have significantly shaped my approach to employer branding as I now understand the importance of utilizing media platforms and effective marketing techniques to attract and retain top talent.

You have successfully completed your studies in M.A. International Marketing and Media Management. What do you currently do professionally?

In my current position as an Employer Branding Specialist, I use my expertise in international marketing and media management to develop and implement comprehensive employer branding strategies. I work closely with companies to present their unique value proposition as an employer, communicate their brand story through various media channels and establish a strong employer branding presence in the market.

What do you particularly appreciate about your work and what is challenging?

One of the aspects I like most about my current job is the opportunity to combine my passion for marketing and media with employer branding.

I love the challenge of developing compelling stories and designing creative campaigns that resonate with target audiences. I am particularly taken with the impact that employer branding has on attracting top talent and promoting a positive working environment.

However, my biggest challenge is to effectively measure the impact and ROI of employer branding measures, as this requires a combination of qualitative and quantitative data analysis.

Have you already gained practical experience before starting your career that you would like to share with us?

Prior to my current role, I gained valuable work experience in various marketing areas such as social media marketing and content marketing, where I had the opportunity to work on various marketing campaigns, manage social media platforms and collaborate with cross-functional teams. These experiences allowed me to develop a solid foundation in marketing strategy, content creation and digital optimization, which will benefit me in developing effective employer branding strategies.

Why did you choose the M.A. International Marketing and Media Management program back then? And why did you decide to study at the Media University?

I chose the program because I wanted to learn more about how marketing and media intersect in the global business world.
I was particularly interested in exploring how marketing strategies can be adapted to different cultural contexts and how media platforms can be used to create impactful brand experiences.

What are your plans for the future?

My plans for the future are to continue my professional development in the field of employer branding and marketing. I want to stay at the forefront of industry trends and incorporate new technologies and innovative strategies into my work. I also want to work with organizations that value and are committed to diversity, equality and inclusion, as I believe these elements are essential to successful employer branding campaigns.

What advice would you give to students who decide to study in Germany at Media University?

I would encourage students who are considering studying in Germany, particularly at Media University, to fully engage with the diverse cultural and academic experiences the country offers.

Take advantage of the hands-on learning opportunities and industry contacts that Media University offers. I would also advise young professionals to take advantage of networking events and internships to gain practical experience in the marketing and media industry.
