Going to university is still a privilege, a great opportunity to start a fulfilling career. As a private university that is state-recognized and accredited, we are aware of this responsibility.
That is why we offer degree courses that are both academically demanding and directly prepare students for professional practice.
With intensive support, in small learning groups – so that the investment in education pays off in the long term.
Let’s set the course for a successful future together.
With best regards
Prof. Dr. Klaus-Dieter Schulz
President of the Media University

The Media University’s study programs are accredited and certified by FIBAA.
They therefore meet the highest international academic quality standards.
All lecturers at the Media University are characterized by extensive practical experience and strong networks in the business world, and our students benefit directly from this through the close support they receive in their everyday studies.
With its three locations in Berlin, Cologne and Frankfurt am Main, the Media University is also in close proximity to attractive cooperation partners from the media industry, the private sector and the public sector, which guarantees the integration of theory and practice in Media University studies.
The Career Service supports students in their search for internships, working student jobs and, in the dual study program, in finding company cooperation partners.
Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Ranty Islam, journalism students from Media University Berlin ran the newsroom at re:publica 18, which took place in Berlin from 2 to 4 May 2018. The conference, entitled “POP”, was dedicated to popular media phenomena and was attended by over 9,000 participants. The Master’s students in the Journalism department provided live multimedia reporting on site, supported by lecturers and design students. This collaboration was part of the university’s MediaLab, which prepared the group for reporting.
In the summer semester of 2019, students at Media University Cologne developed concepts for recruiting and HR marketing at Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland as part of a practical project. In the “Corporate Communications Practice” module, 24 students developed ideas for a new careers website and recruiting measures on Instagram. At the beginning of July, the students successfully presented their results to RTL employees in Cologne, who were delighted with the diverse ideas and the overall concept developed.
In Science Year 2019, journalism students at Media University Frankfurt are focusing on the topic of artificial intelligence (AI). They interviewed experts on the potential applications, opportunities and risks of AI. The resulting articles were published in a series in the Frankfurter Rundschau newspaper. Prof. Dr. Katja Gußmann emphasizes that the project is intended to help raise awareness and reduce fears. A multimedia report, in cooperation with the University and University of Applied Sciences Würzburg, accompanies the project. Other media partners include the Main-Post and Bayerischer Rundfunk.
The Media University is international. Not only our worldwide network of partner universities, but above all the teaching staff and students themselves are the best evidence of interculturalism on campus.
The self-image of the Media University is based on humanistic-democratic values such as openness and tolerance. It therefore actively supports the relevant international conventions and legal requirements: The Media University promotes equal opportunity participation of all people in an inclusive, solidary learning and working community.
