High-quality technical equipment for the talents of tomorrow

At Media University, students from all disciplines get one step closer to their dream job in the communications and media industry. Across the three campuses in Berlin, Cologne, and Frankfurt Main, the TV studios offer all students the opportunity to experiment and bring their creative ideas to life.

The TV studios combine the functions of TV and video production, studio photography, as well as radio and podcast recordings. Together with their students, instructors bring exciting projects to life, such as the “Plan TV” format.

Professional film shoots, photo sessions, and audio recordings

The spacious studios allow work with professional equipment, including up to three cameras. Students can also create hosted segments in front of a green screen, simulating a real TV studio experience. The rooms are specially designed for studio photography and equipped with an integrated flash system.

Additionally, live broadcasts are held, streamed on platforms like social media. For instance, during Berlin’s “Long Night of Sciences,” Media University event highlights were livestreamed worldwide.

Filming and photographing like a pro

During their studies, students acquire all the know-how they need to operate cameras and make their own films. During moderation and public speaking training, for example, they learn how to act confidently in front of the camera or how to keep a cool head in a stressful interview situation.

The technology hire centre also offers students the opportunity to borrow equipment for their own study projects free of charge. A wide range of cameras, lenses, lighting and audio equipment as well as tripods are available.
