PROMOS – Programme to Increase the Mobility of German Students

Condition:

Enrollment at Media University (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme)

What does the programme include?

• Support for traineeships worldwide (outside the EU) from 6 weeks to 6 months
• Funding for study periods of 1 to 6 months
• Support for language courses at a state higher education institution abroad from 3 weeks to 6 months
• Payment of a partial scholarship of € 300/month and/or a flat-rate travel allowance, depending on the target country and the number of applicants:
• Payment of a flat-rate course fee for language and specialist courses

Du darfst keine PROMOS-Fördermittel erhalten, 

• if you receive other financial support for your stay abroad from public or private foundations.
• If you are a scholarship holder of a foundation (also for your studies in Germany), please check directly with your scholarship provider whether they would support your stay abroad. Most public and private foundations and organisations for the promotion of gifted students also support their scholarship holders’ study-related projects abroad upon application.
• if you have already been promoted through PROMOS.
• if you are funded by the ERASMUS programme for the same stay.

Where and when can you apply?

If you would like to apply for PROMOS funding, print and complete the application form (pdf) and put together the necessary attachments.

Please note the deadlines: For stays abroad in the summer semester, your documents must be submitted in paper form or digitally by 15 October of the previous year; for stays abroad in the winter semester by 15 May. If you missed the deadline, please ask if funds can still be released.
