China Office

Mr. Ming Cheng is the director of Ming CHENG Akademie GmbH in Leipzig and Halle and has been the Media University’s China representative since 2013. In this role, he advises and places Chinese applicants interested in studying for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at the Media University in Berlin, Cologne or Frankfurt. He is the first point of contact for applicants from China and advises on visa procedures, ASP (Academic Testing Center in Beijing), study preparation, university entrance exams, acquisition and proof of German language skills, etc.

A basic problem for Chinese applicants for a place at a German university is that the Chinese Abitur is not directly recognized as a university entrance qualification in Germany.

Instead, a one-year preparatory college must usually be attended in order to be admitted to a German university.

The Ming CHENG Academy runs a state-recognized preparatory college in Halle, which offers T, W, M and S/G courses and opens up access to German universities and universities of applied sciences, in particular the Media University, for international prospective students through the final internal assessment test.

The additionally required telc German examinations at levels A1 to C2 can be taken at the telc examination center Leipzig of Ming CHENG Akademie GmbH.
