What comes to mind when you think about your studies at Media University?
I remember many wonderful years in Berlin, an exciting time and lecturers who paved my professional way.
You acquired a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Corporate Communications at Media University Berlin. What is your current job position?
In the meantime I am working as a Social Media Advertising Manager. Due to the current difficult situation in the event industry at the moment, I will soon make a slight career change and work in performance marketing. However, I will continue to work in the field of social media.
Did you get any further work experiences prior to your current position that you would like to share with us?
During my studies I worked as a student assistant at the ZDF-Morgenmagazin. That was really extremely instructive and a great insight into the world of television journalism.
When did you figure out your preferred career path? How much was your choice influenced by the compulsory internship?
Until shortly before the end of my studies, I was firmly convinced that I wanted to become a journalist - also through my internship and work at ZDF. My work as a guest manager in family hotels in Greece and Spain during my studies gave me the opportunity to do a traineeship in corporate communications at the tour operator. By many coincidences I ended up in marketing.
Why did you decide to study “Journalism and Corporate Communications”? And what made you choose Media University Berlin?
I was really excited about the combination, also because I have never seen it in this form anywhere else. And of course it was very attractive to study in Berlin!
Which contents of your studies are part of your current job? How do your studies help you in your work routine?
Especially the marketing contents and the theoretical models are reflected in the holistic view of the marketing strategy of companies.
